That weekend we planned to visit the Castle Rock State Park. This is one of the closest and favorite places for rock climbing near San Francisco. It's located a few miles East of San Jose. The park is on the top of the ridge that looks to the ocean side. We were over the fog coming from the ocean and we felt like we over the clouds. Very nice!

Stas on Goat Rock

Our destination for that day was Goat Rock - a 30 feet high formation of a sand stone. There were 5 of us - Vadik, Lina, Dima, Lena, Alick, Jane and me. It was early morning and we got a spot in the shade, set up the rope for a very difficult route. Everybody had a try and nobody make it to the top. Except for Lina. Lina was dreaming of doing "snapling" - (repelling down in Israel slang). So she climbed to the top from the rear side and gracefully repelled down. Then we changed it to an easier route and we had a lot of fun there.

Dima and Jane didn't climb but still had their little fun. Dima took the pictures that you can admire now and Jane read a book. On our way back we visited a nice waterfall where a lot of other rockclimbers were struggling up the rocks. When we returned, my car was towed away and we pay $140 to get it back. That spoiled such a good day.
